Molly Jackson, LCSW-S

Molly Jackson, LCSW-S, LCDC, RYT EMDR-Certified Therapist

Hi! I’m glad you’re here. If you’ve been carrying something heavy for a long time — maybe so long it just feels like ‘who you are’ — that’s exactly the kind of work I find meaningful. I’m Molly, founder of Onward and an EMDR-certified therapist with over 10 years of experience helping adults heal from trauma, addiction, and chronic pain. My approach is direct but warm: I’ll be honest with you, I’ll be curious about you, and I’ll help you trust yourself again.

My Approach as an EMDR-certified therapist

As an EMDR-Certified trauma therapist, I take an integrative, neuroscience-informed approach in my work. I love using a variety of methods to empower my clients wherever they may be in their wellness process.

I value Transparency in healthcare

With over 10 years of experience, one thing you can count on when working with me is that I will be transparent. When I don’t understand something or if I have concerns about our process together, I will bring that into the open in a sensitive and constructive way. I have found that being open and honest as a therapist helps build trust with clients, just like being open and honest in any relationship would help build trust. It is also important to me to empower each person’s personal agency. Oftentimes clients I work with have been disconnected from their own intuition and trust in themselves. My hope is help you remember that you know yourself better than anyone and that you are already whole even as you heal and grow.

I work from a relational-cultural perspective, which means I leverage my own humanity to better understand and collaborate with you toward your goals. In addition, I take an attachment-focused approach to therapy. Attachment-focused therapists model healthy relationships and help provide a space for real life experience of appropriate, supportive boundaries as well as emotional validation and connection.

Sessions with me tend to be collaborative and honest. I’m not the kind of therapist who just reflects back what you’ve said — I’ll engage, ask hard questions, and name what I’m observing when that’s appropriate. If we use EMDR, we’ll go at a pace that feels safe and titrated, with a lot of groundwork before we process anything. Many clients tell me they didn’t realize how much their body was holding until we started working at that level. I want you to leave sessions feeling more like yourself, not more flooded.

You might be someone who:

  • Has been through difficult things — maybe a complicated childhood, a painful relationship, loss — and still carries it in ways you can’t quite explain or shake
  • Manages your life well on the outside but feels chronically exhausted, anxious, or disconnected underneath
  • Has tried therapy before and left feeling like you talked a lot but didn’t actually move
  • Lives with chronic pain or a chronic health condition and senses there’s a mind-body piece that hasn’t been addressed
  • Is working on addiction or recovery and wants a therapist who understands the complexity without judgment
  • Is ready to go deeper than coping strategies — ready to actually heal

If any of that sounds like you, we’re probably a good fit.

Specialty Areas

Common issues I enjoy tackling with clients include: trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, addiction or problematic substance use, anxiety, chronic pain, and trouble in relationships. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings addressing psychiatric and substance use disorders. Working with clients who are self-driven in their healing process is one of my favorite things.

EMDR-Certified Therapist

I am EMDR-Certified and I love using this treatment method to help people get unstuck. I’m also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and incorporate this into therapy for many clients. I have specific training as a TeleMental Health Provider and am comfortable using telehealth to meet clients where they are and make therapy more accessible. I’d love to be a resource for you!

Why is an EMDR-Certified Therapist important?

Depending on what issues you are wanting to address, it may be important to have an EMDR-certified therapist. Trauma and other complex mental health concerns are best addressed by a therapist who has an in-depth understanding of neurobiology and the adaptive information processing model.  An EMDR-certified therapist has undergone additional supervised practice using EMDR with at least 50 clients.
